Before & After: A Trend-Proof Bath Remodel in Brooklyn

May 11, 2018

New York interior designers Keren and Thomas Richter of The White Arrow were called on to renovate the bathroom of a floor full apartment in Park Slope, Brooklyn. As the only bath in the house, it serves as both the master and guest bath; the Richter’s client, a creative director working in fashion, was looking to swap dated fixtures and a blue glass-topped console for wall-mounted faucets, a floating sink, and marble. The designers added custom millwork, polished nickel, and tadelakt plaster to that list and the result is a serene, simple, and trend-proof bath.

White Arrow created a solution with a built-in oak cabinet (as seen in the mirror reflection) for the appliances. The floating basin is a Duravit Vero Sink and the faucet is the Waterhouse Wall Mount Faucet from Rejuvenation. The towel hardware is the Rejuvenation West Slope Towel Ring, and on the shelf are two Brown Glass Containers by Hay. The bathroom ceiling fixture is the Flush Dome Light in nickel and American ash from Allied Maker.

By moving the appliances opposite the sink and faucet, White Arrow created space for a larger bathtub (a Kohler Drop-In Bath) and storage nook behind. The shower fixtures are the Waterhouse Thermostatic Shower Set and Round Contemporary Shower Head, both in polished nickel from Rejuvenation.
